How does the swap part work?
Families bring items in usable condition to the space such as toys, clothing, books, and baby gear either to be used in the space, or to be taken home by other families. In exchange for bringing items families may take items to use in their own homes. It is our hope that by swapping instead of buying we not only reduce consumerism and waste as a community but also foster positive relationships among families. Swapping is based on the honor system, which we feel is important as it encourages trust in our community.
Where will my child play?
We have four indoor play areas, three open everyday. The main 3 rooms are open to members during regular swap hours. Two days a week the Mainstage auditorium space is open for gross motor play. This is also where we hold our concerts as well as other family & kids events.
Why does Swap and Play close early on Sunday?
Salem/Keizer Swap 'n Play donates it's space to TheCHURCH @Mainstage on Sunday nights to use as classrooms.
What sort of classes do you offer?
What a great question. The answer is, that depends on you! Many of our classes are taught by our members as part of their co-op duties. What we offer depends on the talents our members have to offer. From time to time we will offer classes taught by other local teacher/experts. Check our schedule to see what we are currently offering.
